1967 Sunbeam Tiger MK II
This 1967 MK II built in April of 1967, is one of 536 including 2 prototypes produced in 1967. Only 147 were made after this one before production was shut down in June of 1967.
The body was painstakingly prepared and painted to its correct Forest Green colour. An accomplished woodworking artist restored the original steering wheel to perfection. The interior was restored with original and reproduction materials as well as a new top and boot. The car now has a little over 9,700 miles since restored.
A professional race engine shop rebuilt the original engine with modifications limited to an upgrade to a somewhat hotter hydraulic cam that gives it that nice muscular idle. As well, a four-barrel cast intake manifold with a Holley carburetor was chosen to maintain a stock appearance. The heads were cleaned up and minor porting was done. The rest of the engine was rebuilt to original standards and has less than a thousand miles since rebuilt. It starts instantly and runs strong through the power band with 55-60 lbs of oil pressure at operating temperature.
